Tasks assigned to a lifecycle typically move forward through the lifecycle when a task is marked complete, and backward through the lifecycle when a task is marked incomplete. Rules allow for custom routing of a lifecycle-enabled task.
Rules are Visual Basic Script code executed by TeamLeader when a lifecycle-enabled task is marked complete. VBScript is a Microsoft scripting language, similar to Visual Basic (many of the commands are similar). Virtual Global offers consulting support for those requiring assistance with the development of TeamLeader rules using VBScript.
Steps for using TeamLeader Rules:
Define the Rule - WORKFLOW > RULES and access the Rule Builder utility. The administrator can also access Rules from the Table maintenance utility. When creating or modifying a Rule, specify a descriptive name and associated VBScript to be executed.
Associate the Rule to a lifecycle stage - Select the appropriate lifecycle stage and then select from the list of available rules.
